We are seeking a dedicated Specialist in Health and Safety to join our team in Surrey, BC. Key Responsibilities for the Specialist, Health and Safety

- Develop and implement health and safety programs in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training and education to associates on health and safety practices and emergency procedures.
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, determining root causes and implementing preventive measures.
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
- Collaborate with management and associates to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications for the Specialist, Health and Safety
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Professional certification in health and safety (e.g., CRSP, CHSC) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and engage associates.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess risks and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Proficiency in using computer software for record-keeping and report generation.
