In this role, you will lead a team of hourly associates, ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance. Your leadership will play a key role in meeting customer expectations by ensuring orders are delivered accurately and on time.
About the Job
As an Area Manager II, you will oversee a specific area within the fulfillment center, managing daily operations and leading a team to achieve performance goals. You will collaborate with various support teams to develop plans that meet business objectives and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities for the Area Manager II
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting, mentoring, and motivating your hourly workforce to achieve performance targets.
- Managing safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises within your area.
- Collaborating with support teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to develop and implement plans that meet business objectives.
- Lifting up to 49 pounds and frequently pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching as needed.
- Standing/walking for up to 12 hours during shifts in a variable noise level environment.
- Working in environments subject to variable temperatures and weather, including outdoor loading areas.
- Continuously climbing and descending stairs as required.
Minimum Qualifications for the Area Manager II
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications for the Area Manager II
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
