Sobeys Inc., a proudly Canadian company, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Data Solution Analyst to join our Enterprise Data Office (EDO) team in Mississauga, Ontario.
In this full-time role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evolving data solutions that support our Marketing, Loyalty, and Digital business and AI teams. Your expertise will ensure that our data assets are managed effectively to support advanced analytics, AI operations, and business strategy execution.
About the Job
As a Senior Data Solution Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in executing data governance and quality improvements.
You will collaborate with business partners to identify and classify data assets, support workshops to onboard data owners, stewards, and custodians, and define data quality standards. Your efforts will help maintain the integrity of our data assets and support the organization’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Data Solution Analyst
As the Senior Data Solution Analyst, you will oversee various aspects of department management. Your responsibilities include:
- Data Governance Implementation: Execute the implementation of data governance and data quality improvements.
- Data Asset Management: Identify and classify data assets in collaboration with business partners.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Support workshops to identify and onboard data owners, data stewards, and technical custodians.
- Quality Standards Definition: Define required data asset quality standards in partnership with business teams.
- Process Improvement: Assist business teams in defining or updating processes to maintain data integrity.
- Data Cataloguing: Support the cataloguing of data assets, ensuring correct classifications.
- Quality Monitoring: Collaborate with data quality engineers to build dashboards for tracking data quality issues and improvement initiatives.
- Policy Development: Help define data quality rules and policies associated with domain data assets.
- Issue Investigation: Support the investigation of data quality root causes and remediation efforts.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage and direct data governance and data engineering teams for required tasks.
- Communication: Effectively communicate approaches, dependencies, risks, and progress of data tasks to stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications for the Senior Data Solution Analyst
To be successful in this role, candidates must have:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Data Management Knowledge: Understanding of effective data management practices, including governance, data quality, and data standards.
- Collaboration Skills: Ability to work with business teams to understand data impacts and define data standards.
