Key Responsibilities for the Pharmacist Intern

As the Pharmacist Intern, you will oversee various aspects of department management. Your responsibilities include:

  • Prescription Processing: Assist in the accurate preparation and dispensing of prescriptions, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards.
  • Patient Counseling: Provide information to patients on the proper use of medications, potential side effects, and storage.
  • Health and Wellness Services: Participate in the delivery of clinical services such as medication reviews, immunization clinics, and health screenings.
  • Inventory Management: Support inventory control processes, including ordering, receiving, and managing stock levels to ensure the availability of medications.

Minimum Qualifications for the Pharmacist Intern

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • Education: Enrollment in or completion of a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy program from a recognized institution.
  • Licensure: Eligibility for licensure as a Pharmacist Intern in the province of Manitoba.
