About the Job
As a Pharmacist Intern, you will work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists to support the provision of pharmaceutical services.
This role includes assisting in prescription processing, providing patient counseling, and participating in health and wellness initiatives. You will be an integral part of our pharmacy team, committed to delivering high-quality care and ensuring a positive experience for our patients.
Key Responsibilities for the Pharmacist Intern
As the Pharmacist Intern, you will oversee various aspects of department management. Your responsibilities include:
- Prescription Processing: Assist in the accurate preparation and dispensing of prescriptions, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards.
- Patient Counseling: Provide information to patients on the proper use of medications, potential side effects, and storage.
- Health and Wellness Services: Participate in the delivery of clinical services such as medication reviews, immunization clinics, and health screenings.
- Inventory Management: Support inventory control processes, including ordering, receiving, and managing stock levels to ensure the availability of medications.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory requirements, company policies, and procedures to maintain a safe and effective pharmacy environment
Minimum Qualifications for the Pharmacist Intern
To be successful in this role, candidates must have:
- Education: Enrollment in or completion of a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy program from a recognized institution.
- Licensure: Eligibility for licensure as a Pharmacist Intern in the province of Manitoba.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications for the Pharmacist Intern
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience: Previous experience in a community pharmacy setting is an asset.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and technology used in prescription processing.
