About the Job
As a Pharmacy Student at Costco Wholesale in Brampton, you will assist pharmacists in delivering comprehensive pharmacy services. Your responsibilities will include supporting prescription processing, providing patient consultations, and ensuring the accurate dispensing of medications.
You will also be involved in maintaining inventory levels, managing pharmaceutical supplies, and adhering to all regulatory and company standards. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively with the pharmacy team.
Key Responsibilities for the Pharmacy Student
Your tasks will focus on supporting pharmacy operations, ensuring medication safety, and providing excellent member service.
- Prescription Processing: Assist in the accurate and efficient processing of prescriptions, including data entry and verification.
- Patient Consultation: Provide information to members on medication usage, potential side effects, and storage, under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage pharmaceutical inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and expiration date checks.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all provincial and federal pharmacy regulations, as well as Costco’s policies and procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality member care.
Minimum Qualifications for the Pharmacy Student
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Enrollment in an accredited Pharmacy program.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology and pharmaceutical calculations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications for the Pharmacy Student
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems.
- Bilingualism in English and French.
